10-31-22 — November 2022 Board Meeting Preview
Oct. 31, 2022 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. The doors will open at 5:15 p.m. Anyone wishing to address the board should contact Clerk of the Board Barb Behm by emailing bbehmec@olatheschools.org by noon Thursday, Nov. 3. Student leaders from Brougham Elementary School will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by approval of this month’s meeting agenda.
Board members will recognize Olathe East High School counseling staff, and the district’s Business and Finance Division.
Four informational presentations are planned. Brougham Elementary Principal Stephanie Conklin and fifth grade leaders will share their Top 10 list of great things about their school. Anne-Marie Bixler-Funk and Brooke Robinson will share some of the district’s history in their American Education Week, Nov. 13-18, presentation. Executive Director of Special Services Anjanette Tolman and Special Services Coordinator Andrew Heinicke will review the demographics and history of the district’s gifted education program. Assistant Superintendent for High School Clint Albers, two principals and two students will give a presentation from the district’s Dress Code Committee.
The board will vote on a consent agenda of routine items as well as bids, contracts and agreements. Board members will consider modification of an existing utility easement at the Lindenwood Business Center before receiving information on future action items and two written reports.
An executive session is planned for the board to consult with its attorney.
