Parents as Teachers

What We Do at Parents as Teachers

Home-Based
Certified parent educators trained in child development visit families 1-2 times a month in the home. They help parents understand each stage of their child's development and offer support. Enrollment is open to parents of children age birth to 36 months.
Center-Based
This program offers families opportunities for social interaction through our weekly playgroups and weekend activities. Parent educators are available if families have questions. Enrollment is open to parents of children age birth to 36 months.
Group Connections
Group connection activities are for families enrolled in home-based and center-based Parents as Teachers in Olathe. They include parent/child activities,screenings, and parent support classes. PAT, along with BMO Harris Bank and United Way, has a toy and book lending library in our playroom. Call 913-780-8106 for details.
Referral Network
PAT helps connect families to community services that support their parenting as needed..
Supporting Care Providers
Voluntary free program for home child care providers. Providers are offered curriculum, aligned with PAT, to gain child development knowledge, activities, discipline strategies, health, safety and nutrition. Offered in Spanish and English. Learn more on the Supporting Care Providers webpage.
