12-3-18 — Board Action Items Include Canyon Creek Boundaries

Dec. 3, 2018 ~ Members of the Olathe Board of Education will meet for their regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. The meeting will begin with the recognition of a community partner, outstanding educators, and state champion athletes.

Board members will hear three presentations at this meeting: a legislative update, the potential new elementary math curriculum resource, and information for the final portrait of a graduate.

The board is anticipated to vote on two major action items — Canyon Creek Elementary boundaries and audit reports — before the consent agenda of routine action items. Board members will vote on a dozen bids, contracts or agreements, including trade bids for summer roofing, HVAC and construction projects; activity complex video boards; playground equipment and surfacing at Canyon Creek Elementary; and several technology-related items.

Several future action items will be shared with the board, including student trips, a joint meeting with City of Olathe leaders, technology-related items, material and supply procurement for Canyon Creek Elementary, bids for replacement classroom projectors, Canyon Creek furniture and fixtures, policies, and textbooks.

Two written reports will be delivered to the board: parent-teacher conference totals and the Head Start director’s monthly report.

Board members will hold an executive session to discuss non-elected personnel.

The complete agenda and supporting documents are available on BoardDocs.
