11-15-18 — Presenter Discusses Technology Safety and Children

Nov. 15, 2018 ~ The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with special education needs. "Technology Safety and Our Children" is the topic of the Thursday, Dec. 6 meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Instructional Resource Center, 14090 Black Bob Road, Olathe.

Mark Sumler of Joshua Center for Neurological Disorders is the presenter. Technology continues to grow and change as it becomes a more integral influence in the lives of children and families. This workshop will discuss how to manage technology with families and expand an awareness of the safety challenges that come with technology.

The next session will be Feb. 21, 2019. The topic is "Creating Financial Security for a Loved One with Special Needs."

Sign language and Spanish interpreters for these seminars can be requested by calling Sally Boyd in Special Services at 913-780-8170 at least three days in advance of the seminar. There is no need to RSVP for the seminars.
