10-30-18 — Proposed Canyon Creek Boundaries on Board Agenda

Oct. 30, 2018 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. The meeting will begin with the recognition of a community partner and outstanding students.

Board members will see three presentations at this meeting: American Education Week activities Nov. 12-16, the district’s Big 3 focus in Learning Services, and proposed boundaries for Canyon Creek Elementary which opens next fall.

The consent agenda of routine action items will be followed by more than a dozen bids, contracts and agreements. These include bids for various bond-related projects taking place next year, purchase of turf field maintenance equipment, a technology licensing agreement, support for the district’s E-Rate application process, etc. The board will also appoint a delegate for the Kansas Association of School Boards annual conference.

Several future action items will be shared with the board, including student trips, band textbooks, Distinguished Scholars Academy curriculum, playground equipment and surfacing for Canyon Creek Elementary, technology-related purchases, audit reports, and library software maintenance agreement.

Board members will hold an executive session to discuss employer-employee negotiations.
