11-2-15 — Options After High School

Nov. 2, 2015 ~ The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with special education needs. "What's Next? Options for Students with Intellectual Disabilities after High School" is the topic of the Nov. 12 meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Instructional Resource Center, 14090 Black Bob Road, Olathe.

Debby Byrne of the Olathe Public Schools is among several panelists who will describe services for young adults with intellectual disabilities. These range from day services to skills training and college classes. This session will build parents' awareness of some services in the community.

The next Special Services seminar for parents will be "Powering Down: Parenting Issues Related to the Use of Technology" on Jan. 28, 2016.
