11-2-15 — American Education Week among Presentations to Board

Nov. 2, 2015 ~ Two presentations will be made to the Olathe Board of Education during its regular meeting on Thursday, Nov 5. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Education Center, 14160 Black Bob Road, Olathe.

Three teachers will present information about American Education Week, celebrated Nov. 16-20, its origins and purpose.

The other presentation will feature full-day and half-day kindergarten programs in the district.

This month's board recognitions include one business partner and a handful of staff honors.

Following a consent agenda of routine items, the board will act on a few action items including selecting the mascot and colors for Olathe West High School.

The board will receive information about future action items including legislative positions, a schedule for aging facility projects in 2016, and curriculum for the Public Safety and Green Technologies programs.

The board plans an executive session to discuss personnel matters and employer-employee negotiations.
