Dec. 18, 2015 ~ District Board of Education and staff members gathered with the construction crew from McCown Gordon on Dec. 18 as the final structural beam was lifted at Olathe West High School. The school, which will open to students in August 2017, is located near Santa Fe Street and Hedge Lane. District staff and board members were able to sign the beam in the ceremonial Topping Off event before it was lifted. Staff enjoyed celebrating the next step in the process of building the new high school.
"It's exciting to see the progress of Olathe West High School," Superintendent Marlin Berry said. "We look forward to the opening of the school and the educational opportunities it will provide for our students."
