Nov. 18, 2016 ~ Hundreds of applications have already been received from students who want to be part of the district’s 21st Century Academies next school year. With 15 academies to choose from, students have many options to consider.

The four-year academies are Animal Health, BIOengineering, Business Finance, Civic Leadership, Computer Science, Design, Distinguished Scholars, e-Communication, Engineering, Future Educators, Geoscience, Green Tech, Medical Professions, Public Safety, and Sports Medicine and Exercise Science.

The newest programs, Green Tech and Public Safety, will be offered at Olathe West High School when it opens in August.

Applications may be submitted online by visiting the 21st Century Academies website through Friday, Dec. 16.

Students who are interested in any of the 21st Century Academies and who need help with the application may get assistance from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 at the Technology Support Center, 14250 Black Bob Road. Computer Science Academy students will be on hand to provide assistance.
