10-5-23 — Education Center Features K-12 Art Exhibit This Fall

Oct. 5, 2023 ~ The main lobby and hallways of the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe, are filled with colorful artwork by students in kindergarten through their senior year of high school. The K-12 exhibit is open to the public during regular business hours of 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday or 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Fridays.

The artwork showcases a variety of subjects that student artists are learning about and creating in schools across the district. Various art instructors submitted works for the exhibit, which runs through Nov. 2. Their choices range from a kindergartner’s depiction of a hot air balloon made with markers, tissue paper and cotton balls, to a senior’s photo of a beautiful garden using various types of lighting.

In addition to the Education Center art exhibit, the Instructional Resource Center at 14090 S. Black Bob Road, hosts a range of student works throughout the year. That exhibit area will feature elementary artists’ work starting in late October and running through Jan. 4, 2024.
