Oct. 3, 2022 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. Diana Vincent, Olathe West High School international language interpreter, will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by approval of this month’s meeting agenda.

Board members will recognize two teachers from Olathe West High School who earned titles of distinction from national organizations.

Three informational presentations are planned. Frontier Trail Middle School principal Dr. Rod Smith will highlight some of the great things happening at his school. Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education Dr. Tim Reves will share information around our 2022-2023 student enrollment. Finally, Associate Superintendent of Human Resources Dr. Lachelle Sigg will provide a Human Resources update, including information around staff recruitment/retention efforts.

The board will vote on a consent agenda of routine items as well as bids, contracts and agreements. Board members will take action on bids for various facility, playground and sports equipment as well as the approval of all high school science courses and various contracts. They will receive information on future action items and three written reports.

An executive session is planned for the board to consult with its attorney.
