4-3-25 — Winter 2025 State Sports Championships
April 3, 2025 ~ Olathe Public Schools high school student-athletes delivered outstanding performances at the recent winter sports state championships, with multiple teams and individuals bringing home top honors.
Boys' Swimming: The Olathe East High School 200-yard Medley Relay team captured a state championship in impressive fashion. The team, consisting of Corbin Bradwell, Skylar Jones, Adam Hagan, and Charlie Ross, showcased exceptional teamwork and skill, securing the top spot in the state competition. In the 500-yard Freestyle, Olathe West High School’s Hayden Renoux earned the state title, proving his dominance in the event and solidifying his place among the state’s elite swimmers.
Boys' Wrestling: Olathe South High School’s Jovani Caudill clinched the state championship in the 165-pound weight class, continuing the school’s tradition of excellence in wrestling.
Girls' Wrestling: The girls' wrestling competition also saw outstanding performances from Olathe Public Schools athletes. Olathe North High School’s Makenzie Sharp won the state title in the 140-pound weight class, while Olathe East’s Audrey Lennard triumphed in the 145-pound division. Additionally, Olathe South’s Justice Thomas earned the state championship in the 170-pound weight class.
National Dance Competition: The Raven Dance Team from Olathe Northwest High School made history by earning three national titles at the National Dance Competition. The team was crowned National Champion in Game Day, National Champion in Team Performance, and took home the prestigious Grand National Champion title.
These accomplishments reflect the dedication and hard work of our student-athletes and coaching staff. Olathe Public Schools is proud to celebrate these incredible achievements in winter sports and looks forward to more success in the spring.
