Jeff DeGraffenreid - Honored in 2013

    In high school, Jeff was active in football, track and field and baseball. He was also involved with plays, musicals and chorus. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at MidAmerica Nazarene University and a doctorate in educational policy and leadership from Saint Louis University. Jeff began his emergency services career with Johnson County Med-Act where he rose to division chief. Jeff also served as the training chief for the Overland Park Fire Department. He later accepted the position of chief operating officer for Heart to Heart International, a not-for profit organization focusing on international disaster response in more than 50 countries. He was appointed Olathe’s fire chief in 2010 and earned the highly competitive chief fire officer designation, which recognized excellence and outstanding achievement throughout his career.
