General Information

  • Read this general information. Then at the bottom of the page you will you will click to go go the next step.

Network Identity

  • Network UserName: Every student has a network username. (Example: 345sis65) Students use their network username to log in to the district network, ClassLink, StudentVue, Canvas, student Google mail, tech devices, and other district sites and applications. It is very important that students know their district network username.

Network Password: At the beginning of the school year you must log in to a school computer with your network username and set your password. You will not be able to log in to email until this is done. Teachers in your school will know the default password to enter the first time. You will then be asked to set your own new personal password. Your password should be at least 8 characters and contain a capital letter and a number to comply with Google requirements. Be sure to remember your new password — put it in your smartphone or somewhere secure, but where you can find it if you forget what you set. Passwords may expire and may need to be reset periodically. Students can now reset their expired password from home if they have their district account set up properly. Read instructions on resetting your expired password.

International Travel: If you log in to your district accounts (Microsoft, Google Mail, Moodle, even your computer) while traveling outside of the United States you will trigger cyber security warnings in-disctrict that usually result in your accounts being locked, and you being blocked from OSP websites. eAcademy allows short absences for travel, etc. but if you'll be gone for an extended period of time you should reconsider whether taking an online course is the right decision. Your counselor can talk you through this and help you make the best decision. See our webpage on International Travel.

Student Google Mail

  • Your email address uses your network username followed by @students.olatheschools.com. For the network name example above, the email address would be 345sis65@students.olatheschools.com. Students' most frequent email mistake is not typing their email address correctly.

Your school email will be the only account to which messages are sent. You are required to use your school email account to send and receive messages. The enrollment form asked for a student personal email address so that we can communicate if your Google mail gets locked or there is a Google system outage.

You cannot access your school email through StudentVue to see messages sent from outside StudentVUE. You MUST go to Google.com and log in using your full school email address and school network password. See the Google Mail help page.

Technology Assistance

  • The eAcademy website contains information to help you do your own troubleshooting. See our Technical Support channel for information.

In general if there is a technology or other issue keeping a student from progressing, the student may be required to Zoom and share their screen so that we can help solve the issue. It may also be necessary for students to bring their student computer to their school technology assistant, the district Technology Support Center, or the Instructional Resource Center for help.
