Checking Grades
The online gradebooks are available through the options below. Your instructor will make it clear where your gradebook can be found.- Canvas: Students have daily ongoing access to the Canvas gradebook in their online course. This is also where you can find feedback comments sent by your instructor on graded assignments. Students are responsible for checking the gradebook frequently for instructor feedback and grading.
- Other: In a couple of our courses, the teacher asks students to submit all their work on TurnItIn.com and the gradebook and feedback are posted there. Two of our courses use the textbook company's assignment site and the gradebook and feedback are posted there.
Deadlines and Announcements
Our semester schedules are posted on the eAcademy website along with our twelve-month calendar. Click this link to see the eAcademy semester schedules.Instructors will post a calendar of course assignment due dates, generally in the zero block of the course. Find it, save it, print it, post it, follow it. Some students add reminders in their phone calendar or an organizer app. Courses usually have penalties for late work, so be on time.
Instructors will post announcements in the zero block (top) of each course. Students are responsible for checking their course DAILY for information pertaining to their course.
Email Must Be Checked Daily
Checking your student email daily is a requirement in the eAcademy program.- Students will use their school/student Google email for communication. We ask for a personal email address on your enrollment form so we have an additional backup contact for you. The personal email must be a student account, not a parent email address. If the student does not have a personal email account, we ask that they create one now, and we recommend Google Gmail for its reliability, features, and associated apps.
- eAcademy is not responsible for students' failure to receive messages due to failure to check email daily as required.
Zoom
Zoom will be used as an instructional tool for you, your classmates, and your teacher to connect and communicate.- There is a required startup meeting in each course at the start of the semester or term. Instructors will have a makeup alternative for students who miss this meeting.
- There will be recurring Zoom class meetings throughout the course for instructors to connect with students, answer questions, review for assessments, and other activities to help students be successful. Attendance is highly encouraged but not required.
- Instructors may require students to Zoom for a personal quiz, assessment, or conversation as a graded course assignment. These will be scheduled at a time both the student and instructor are mutually available.
- Students experiencing technology or content difficulties are required to Zoom with their teacher see their school technology office for assistance.
Course Drops
-
Course Drops
Students who wish to voluntarily drop a course must do so by the end of the 1st quarter (fall) or 3rd quarter (spring) After that date a grade will be recorded regardless of what the grade is or whether the student completes the course. Summer students may drop a course at any time during the summer session. However there is no fee refund after the first day of the summer session. Students who struggle with online learning and drop or fail a course may be denied later enrollment in the eAcademy program, or may only enroll in the summer fee-based program.
