Community Open Houses

  • The Community Open Houses begin in late October and run through mid-November. Please see the list below for dates, times and locations. If you have any questions, please email the 21st Century Academy office for information.

  • The Open House for Distinguished Scholars will start at 6:00pm in the auditorium with a brief presentation and then students and parents will have the opportunity to visit the different strands of the program. Language Arts, Math, Political Science, Science, and Visual Arts.

  • Starting at 5:45pm, visit tables in the commons for Animal Health, GeoScience, Medical Professions, and Sports Medicine. There will be three rotations; 6:15pm, 6:45pm, and 7:15pm where you can hear specific information about specific Academies.

  • Green Tech and Public Safety Open House starts at 6:00pm and ends at 8:00pm. During that time, you can tour the Academy spaces and ask questions of current students and teachers. There is no formal presentation.

  • The Academies at East have a combined Open House. Starting at X:00pm, you can visit tables in the commons to learn more about each Academy and then tour the building to see the learning spaces. Academy instructors and students will be available to answer your questions.

  • The Academies at South have a combined Open House. Starting at 6:00pm, you can visit tables in the commons to learn more about each Academy and then tour the building to see the learning spaces. Academy instructors and students will be available to answer your questions.

  • e-Communication Academy Open House starts at 5:30pm and ends at 7:30pm. During that time, you may visit displays in the commons that feature all the different strands of the program. Tours of the building leave every 10 minutes from the commons. Stops include an information session from the Facilitator and tours of the different learning spaces.

  • The Engineering Academy Open House starts at 5:30pm and ends at 7:30pm. Tours will start every 5 minutes led by a senior, a junior, and a sophomore in the Engineering Academy. The tour will take you through the Engineering Academy classrooms and metal shop as you learn about what students will be doing each year in the Engineering Academy. The tour guides will have time to answer your questions at the end of the tour. After the tour, you can walk around ONW commons and interact with our senior capstone students as they showcase projects they are working on. Don't miss the junior class robotics competition as they test out their initial ideas for their FIRST Tech Challenge. There will also be a display for the freshmen year and an opportunity to talk with freshmen students about their experiences in the Engineering Academy.
