Construction Technology Overview

  • The Construction Technology program provides students with hands-on construction experience as they participate in the completion of off and on-site construction projects. Students will spend the majority of their class time working in the shop.

    • Learn the skills necessary to construct a residential home from blueprint reading, building codes and material estimation.
    • Through the use of safe tool handling, the assembling of mock-up structures.
    • Students will learn the basic practices of the trades needed in the construction industry.
    • Explorer career, educational and employment opportunities, including construction-related job shadows and internships.

    • Partner with industrial institutions for advanced learning and employment opportunities
    • Integrate skills needed in the workplace into classroom and shop instruction

    Career Opportunities

    • Residential and commercial construction opportunities are available through requests from area contractors representing all fields of construction, from the foundation to the finish work, specialty areas, new construction and remodeling work.
    • Become self-employed and own your own business.
