    Good morning. Here are your weekly announcements.

    Ravens, do you like hiking, exploring, or being outdoors? The Outdoor Adventure Club will be hosting its first meeting on Tuesday, September 17th during Raven 50A in room 1312. For info, look for their activity table during Raven50 this Thursday.

    Attention NHS members. Your first member meeting of the 2019-2020 school year will be Wednesday, September 18th. You may attend the morning meeting at 7:30 or at 3:05. Both meetings will be held in the Raven’s Nest. As a reminder all meetings are required, if you have any questions see Mrs. Lunney or Mrs. Pruett-Epp.

    Colleges visiting ONW this week are: Rockhurst & Drake Universities on Sept 9 University of Iowa & Columbia College Chicago on Sept 10 Illinois Institute of Technology on Sept 13 Next week the following college will be visiting: Baker University, Central College, University of Kansas & MidAmerican Nazarene University --Sign up for these visiting in Student Services

     

    The next Medical Club meeting will be today in RM 1113 during lunch B. Hope to see you there!

     

    Any juniors or seniors interested in participating in the Powder Puff game on Wednesday, October 9th will need to pick up a packet from the front office with Miss Debbie. For all participants, there will be a mandatory meeting in the flex theater on Tuesday, September 10th starting at 7:15 a.m. All permission slips and money will be collected at that time. There will be NO exceptions. Please plan on attending!

     

    International Club will be having its next meeting on Tuesday Sep. 10 in 2310 during lunch A, instead of Thursday, as previously announced. We will be voting on officers and discussing events for the school year. See you then!

    National Art Honor Society Meeting Tuesday September 10th! Come check it out in Rm 1703 during Lunch A.

    Come join a community of young slam poets. Come join HYPE. There will be an informational meeting on September 10 during Raven 50 B in Room 1325. See you there!

    Join ONW's Gender Sexuality Alliance at 3:15 pm on Wednesday the 11th of September in room 1313. We will be exploring self-care options that we can use during tough times for Suicide Prevention Week.

    Come join ONW's Anime Club! There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, September 12 during Raven 50 B in room 1325! Don't miss it!

    Do you want to travel to Europe this summer with other ONW Ravens? There is an informational meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7PM. It will be in room 1207, Mr. Stephen's room. Find a Social Studies teacher for additional questions!

    Good morning. Here are your weekly announcements.

    There will be a Science Olympiad Informational Meeting today during Raven 50 B in room 1117. Hope to see you there!

    Fashion Club will have their first meeting today during Lunch B in room 1501. Bring your friends and we will enjoy some snacks!

    All Lady Ravens interested in playing basketball this year need to attend an important meeting today  in Coach Branstrom's Classroom (Rm 1115). The meeting will start at the beginning of Lunch B (12:15).

    Any Male or Female interested in Wrestling this year that is NOT in a fall sport, please meet with Coach Mesa on Thursday in the weight room during Seminar.  This meeting will talk about Pre-season workouts. 

    Applications for this year’s Principal’s Advisory are now available in the office! They must be turned in by 3pm on Friday, September 6. See Mr. Zuck or Kate Fabac with questions. Freshmen – this is another great way to get connected to ONW!

    Interested in getting some community service hours and helping out with your fellow Ravens? Come join the Raven Service Club for our first meeting of the year this Friday, September 6th, Lunch B in the Auditorium. Everyone is welcome!

    Come to the ONW Theatre Department Back and Snack for information about how to get involved in theater. We want to see you Wednesday, August 28th from 3-5. Meet us in the auditorium to learn about on and off stage roles, meet friends and eat a snack! 

    ONW's Gender Sexuality Alliance will meet after school Wednesday, 8/28 in room 1313. We welcome everybody as we paint rocks together!

    Applications to join Unified Sports for the Fall basketball season are due this Friday!  Unified sports is an inclusive program that combines individuals with disabilities and individuals without disabilities on sports teams.  Applications in office!

    Interested in being a teacher after High School? Join our Future Teachers Organization here at ONW! Please see Mrs. Hunt in room 1321 for more information. Our first meeting will be Wednesday Sept. 4th during Lunch B.

    Hey Freshmen! Do you want to be a voice for your class and represent the class of 2023! Then you need to join Freshmen Committee! Pick up an application from Mrs. Welborn in room 2304! 

    Sophomores, make your voice heard and help plan activities like the homecoming bonfire, week of giving, dodgeball, and the spring movie night! Join Sophomore Committee! Pick up an application from Mr. Trevino in room 1325!

    A quick reminder that you must have a parking pass to park at ONW & CBAC. Parking tags must be visible at all times, so don't forget to get your parking tags as soon as possible. Starting next week tickets will be given to cars w/ out current tag.

    It's time for you to show off your sweet technology skills this year in the Technology Student Association. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd during Raven 50 B in room 1717. See you there!

    Any ONW Track athlete that has finished their season needs to get their clean uniform checked in to coach Stephens in room 1207 immediately or you will be charged for it.

    Interested in anime? want to hang out for an hour after school? Come join anime club! room 1325 every tuesday at 3:10

    Juniors in a 21st Century Program are encouraged to attend an informational presentation on applying for an internship for this summer or Fall 2019.  It will be held Friday, April 26, in the Library during Lunch A.

    The Aviary, ONW's literary magazine, is now accepting submissions for the Spring 2019 issue. Our theme is muse. We are accepting submissions that are inspired by our featured artists OR other sources. Deadline is 4/26. Submit at onwlitmag.weebly.com.

    Attention current juniors- interested in being on Senior Committee for your Class of 2020? Pick up an application packet in the front office today! Packets due in full by 3pm on Friday April 26th. Questions? See Mrs. Hamilton or Mrs. Hunt ASAP.

    Interested in helping the environment or need service hours? Join Olathe Teen Council for Green Up, Clean Up on April 27th. We will spend the morning picking up trash along the Indian Creek. More information can be found in Student Services.

    Attention class of 2021. Interested in helping to plan powder puff and prom? Apply for Junior Committee. Applications will be available in the front office from 4/23 to 4/28 and are due to Mrs. Hanson or Ms. Wheeler's mailbox by 4/29.

    Can you do a back handspring? Have you been a gymnast? If this is you, we’d LOVE to have you be a part of the ONW Gymnastics team in August! We will have a spring meeting for all interested gymnasts on Monday, April 29th at 5pm at the Mill Creek Campus in Olathe (300 E. Loula St.) Come meet the coaches and ask questions. If you have questions, please see your Athletic Director.

    ONW Students - Are you interested in exploring Europe and experiencing the amazing culture, sites and food?   If yes, there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday May 1st in room 1221 at 7:00 pm. See Mrs Laflen for more info. Rm 1221.

    the summer program should enroll online at www.olatheschools.com, academics, high school, and then on the left hand side there is a driver’s education box.

    Quincy University will be visiting ONW on Tuesday and Kansas City Kansas Community College will be visiting on Friday.  Stop by Student Services to sign up for these visits.

    Ravens! Coming up is ONW’s Can Drive Dodgeball Tournament. The tournament will take place after school on April 16th at 3:30. 12 teams will battle it out and the winners get to play a team of teachers during seminar on April 18th to determine the ultimate champions!

    If you want to enter a team into the tournament you can collect registration forms from the office or room 1325. The entrance fee for teams is 5 cans per person, turn your forms and cans into our table in the commons before school or during Raven 50. If you

    want to watch the epic tournament you can bring 1 can to our table during Raven 50 to receive a seminar pass.

    ONW is hosting a bone marrow drive to get people entered into the registry for those who are at least 18 years old on April 17th in the flex. This is a check swab in order to see if your genetic markers will match a person in need of stem cells.

    Looking for the perfect dress this season? Join Show Me Shoes Foundation as we give back to girls in need. Register to receive a FREE Prom Dress at "Prom Project 9, More than a Dress!" on April 7th from 3-6PM. Enjoy an afternoon of giveaways, makeovers and lots of love!     Prom will be held on April 13 at Pinstripes. Tickets will be sold at lunch April 8th-April 12th for $30 or $50/couple. Out of district date forms are available in the office starting April 1st and are due by April 8th to Ms. Wheeler or Mrs. Hanson.

    Attention all new NHS members.  Your $20.00 membership dues are due to Mrs. Lunney by Friday April 5th.  Please stop by room 1219 to pay your fees. Also, new members, if you are interested in being an officer next year please see Mrs. Lunney about the process for running for the four positions.

    Cheer packets, for tryouts, are due to the front office by April 11. If you haven't picked one up, stop by the front office. Cheer tryouts are April 26th- LET'S GO RAVENS!!
