High School Priority Standards

  • All standards are important, but some standards are more influential than others. Priority Standards are the carefully selected subset of the course-specific standards that not only influence student success now, but in future courses. Teachers place a high degree of focus on Priority Standards by spending more time instructing, assessing and providing feedback to students in order for students to gain the level of proficiency required for future success. Additionally, in high school, these Priority Standards are aimed at preparing students for their college and career choices.
