I started working at Ridgeview in the fall of 2022. Prior to working here at Ridegeview, I worked in a daycare for three years. I went into education because I have always wanted to be a teacher who made a difference in a child's life. A teacher that will get brought up in conversations years later.

I am Draco, a 4-year-old bearded dragon who rules Nicole Schade's resource classroom with my cool, calm and sun-loving personality. My favorite hobbies include basking like a king in my hammock, munching on tasty snacks (bugs and veggies are my jam), and soaking up all the attention I can get from my human friends. When I'm not busy receiving all the students' gentle pets, you can usually find me striking regal poses in my hammock because, well, I am a dragon after all! I am the scaly, snuggly, heart of the classroom and love being part of the Ridgeview family!

Therapy Dog
I’m a certified therapy dog, and I started working at Ridgeview in March 2024. I earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) badge with my handler, Mrs. Riley. That means I’ve got great manners and know how to be on my best behavior — even when I’m really excited to see my friends!
Some of my favorite things are napping, snuggling, being read to, and playing with my toys (especially the squeaky ones).
I became a therapy dog because I love making people smile and helping everyone feel calm, happy, and welcome. Whether you need a cuddle or a quiet buddy to sit with, I’m your pup!

International Language Interpreter
I have been working for the Olathe Public Schools since 2007. In 2017-2018, I began working as an interpreter at Ridgeview Elementary School. I enjoy working in education, even though I studied Human Resources at the University of El Salvador in my home country.
Working as an interpreter has allowed me to help and learn firsthand about the successes and needs of families in my community. I believe, as Alejandro Jodorowsky said, “We cannot change the world, but we can change one person's world.”
Working as an interpreter allows me to get to know many families in various settings and, through this, I gain a deeper understanding of how we can provide better service to them.
