Nurse's Notes

  • Student Health Concerns

Posted by Randy Warner on 11/30/2018

Enrollment this year will be done entirely on-line. Due to this change, there will not be any opportunity to speak with the nurses in person regarding your student’s health concerns. If your student has a significant health concern or there has been a significant change, please contact the nursing office at 913-780-7142 to notify the nurses of these changes.  If your student will be participating in a fall high school sport, please turn the KSHSAA physical form in to the main office.

  • Medication Procedures

Parents are to sign a consent for OTC (Over the Counter) medications to be administered at school. OTC medications will be administered sparingly when indicated to make students more comfortable and able to remain at school. Ideally, high school students with an ongoing need for OTC medications would self-carry and not be dependent on health room stock.

  • Immunizations

Our next district immunization exclusion day for students still needing proof of immunizations is the first day back to school in August. If you have been notified by the nurse’s office that your student is not in compliance, they will not be allowed to return to school that day unless they bring proof of needed immunizations. If your student receives other immunizations not required for school (such as Hepatitis A, HPV) these can be added to their record if sent to the nurse’s office. All immunizations can be viewed and obtained through Parent View.
