Enrolling for the First Time at Olathe East

  • Normally, the Counseling Office is open from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.  However, during the COVID-19 Stay At Home period, no one is in the building, so you must reach out to the registrar, Debbie Stewart, at dstewartoe@olatheschools.org to begin the enrollment process for 2020-21.

Summer hours are 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Thursday, beginning June 1st and continuing through July 24th.  ALL schools and district facilities will be closed on Fridays between 6/5/20 and 7/24/20.

The following information is for students who are brand new to the Olathe School District.

    Step 1:

You will need to gather the following documentation with you to register/enroll your student for the first time in an Olathe school:

    • Proof of Residency in Olathe East attendance boundaries. This can be a utility bill or a copy of a SIGNED contract/lease for your place of residence, or proof of an approved transfer.
    • Proof of Identity, such as a copy of the student’s birth certificate, passport or driver’s license
    • Proof of Immunizations: If you are from out of state or out of the country, we must have proof of immunizations prior to enrolling your student. Immunization records can usually be obtained from your student’s previous school or your doctor’s office.
    • Withdrawal Form from previous school (if enrolling mid-year), and ideally a copy of your student’s transcript and/or current schedule. We cannot enroll juniors and seniors without first obtaining a copy of their transcript.

    Step 2:

Please print off and complete all of the forms included in our enrollment packet (see below) and bring the completed forms to your appointment.

    Step 3:

When all of the forms and documents are gathered and completed, please e mail Debbie Stewart at dstewartoe@olatheschools.org.  Once the schools are open again, you can call the Olathe East counseling office at 913-780-7800 to make an appointment with your child’s counselor. Our hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday–Friday during the school year, and 7AM to 5PM Monday through Thursday from June 1st through July 24th, and closed on Fridays during that same time frame.
