Jan. 7, 2025 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe.  

Anyone wishing to address the board at the regular meeting should email Clerk of the Board Barb Behm before noon Thursday, Jan. 9. See our Rules for Public Comment webpage for details.  

The regular meeting will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Haley Pham of Olathe Northwest High School, followed by the board adopting their meeting agenda.  

The board will recognize the Olathe North High School state gymnastics champions, National Board Certified Teachers, and 2024 Liberty Bell Award recipient Julie Fishburn.  

Three presentations are planned: an update on school schedule changes by level, school spotlight on Olathe Northwest, and a presentation by Little Government Relations on the upcoming 2025 Kansas legislative session.  

An executive session to discuss non-elected personnel is planned prior to acting on a consent agenda of routine items as well as a dozen bids, contracts and agreements. The board will also act on a board policy update regarding personal electronic devices and the district’s 2025 legislative priorities. Board members will receive information on more than a half-dozen future action items and one written report.  

An executive session is planned for the board to have a preliminary discussion relating to the acquisition of real property.
