College Now

  • What is College Now?

College Now is a partnership with Johnson County Community College that allows students to earn college credit for classes they take right here at Olathe North. Students must apply and enroll separately at JCCC. Below are links to JCCC's College Now website, steps to apply and enroll, and the parent presentation, which includes a complete list of courses offered at Olathe North that qualify for College Now credit.

    What About College Algebra?

If you are enrolled in College Algebra at ON, you can also receive credit from JCCC through the QuickStep Plus College Algebra Program. It essentially works the same as College Now with a few slight differences. For complete information and directions to enroll, read the College Algebra (Quickstep Plus) Enrollment Guide (PDF). The CRN for College Algebra for students attending Olathe North is 82224 regardless of teacher/period.

    Course Schedules and CRNs

View the ON fall/yearlong College Now CRNs webpage

    • Yearlong courses include AP Spanish V, French V, and all math and science courses. For these courses, you enroll/pay in the fall and the grade is posted in the spring; it is a yearlong course.
    • Fall/spring courses include AP Lit & Comp, Spanish IV, French IV, AP Euro, AP US History, AP Music Theory and AP Gov. These courses are only for one semester, and may require enrolling in both the fall and spring for courses that last the full school year at Olathe North. (ex: AP US History is worth three credits in the fall and another three in the spring).

    Important Prerequisite Information

Comp I and II, and all math and math-based science courses (AP/College Chem, AP Physics) require a prerequisite before enrollment at JCCC can take place. Students can either use a qualifying ACT score, GPA, OR they must take the appropriate placement exam at JCCC. Students must be fully admitted to JCCC before they can schedule an appointment to take the placement exam. See below for some helpful tips and info regarding this important step:

    Schedule Your Placement Exam

AP Literature & Composition can count for both Comp I and Comp II credits. Students would enroll in Comp I during the fall semester and Comp II in the spring. Students who take Comp I through JCCC this fall will be able to just log-in and enroll in Comp II once spring College Now opens.

For Comp II — If you want to use an AP score of 3 or higher from the AP Lang Exam last spring, you MUST download official AP scores from your College Board account and submit them through your JCCC account.

All transcripts and AP/ACT scores will be uploaded to your JCCC account. Visit the College Now Placement information webpage and scroll to the bottom to upload test scores.
