Watch D.O.G.S.

  • WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security.

    To sign up to be a WATCH D.O.G., please complete the Registration Form and enter the date you would like to volunteer. Christina Smith Gilmore will reach out to you to confirm your registration via email. 

    Daily Schedule

    • 8:30-8:35 a.m. — Check in at the front office and pick up your schedule. Place your coat in the hanging area of the workroom and pick up your vest. If you would like to order a school lunch, please order at the front office. Please stay on the letter day schedule; teachers are counting on it.
    • 8:35-8:55 a.m. — Arrival duty, crosswalk, front doors
    • 8:55-9:10 a.m. — Help with announcements in the front office
    • 9:10-9:30 a.m. — Perimeter check (check to make sure all outside doors are locked)
    • 9:30-10 a.m. —
      • A Day, Grubaugh, third grade
      • B  Day, Davis, kindergarten
      • C Day, Storck, kindergarten
      • D Day, Werth, third grade
    • 10-10:15 a.m. — Help outside with recess
    • 10:15-10:30 a.m. — Break
    • 10:30-11 a.m. — Visit your child(ren) in their classroom(s) or in their specials
    • 11-11:30 a.m. —
      • A Day, Prichard, first grade
      • B Day, Magruder, first grade
      • C Day, Key, second grade
      • D Day, Hickel, second grade
    • 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. — Lunchroom duty helping wipe down tables, opening packages, etc. Interact with the kids. Have lunch with your child(ren).
    • 12:45-1:15 p.m. — Visit your child(ren) in their classroom(s) or in their specials
    • 1:15-1:45 p.m. — 
      • A Day, Thompson, music
      • B Day, Evans, physical education
      • C Day, Kamradt, library
      • D Day, Korb, fourth grade
    • 1:45-2:15 p.m. — 
      • A Day, Lambert, fifth grade
      • B Day, Koontz, fifth grade
      • C Day, Whitaker, art
      • D Day, Saxon, fourth grade
    • 2:15-2:45 p.m. — Perimeter check (check to make sure all outside doors are locked)
    • 2:45-3 p.m. — Complete the survey using the QR code in the binder. Use code KS 1107
    • 3:15-3:30 p.m. — Help outside with recess
    • 3:30-3:45 p.m. — See Christina Smith in the office to take a picture with your child(ren)
    • 3:50-4:10 p.m. — Dismissal duty, help load children into cars
