ART CLUB is an after-school opportunity for fourth and fifth grade students. There will be a seven-week session in each semester.
Cool Science Investigations (CSI) program is designed to enhance the positive experiences elementary students have with science learning. It is designed for students in fourth and fifth grade.
MATH WINGS is an after-school accelerated math club for students in fourth and fifth grade. We meet once a week to practice challenging math problems and share our strategies. Three times of year, students participate in math competitions. Students who place at the regional level move on to the district competition. Math Wings meet most Tuesdays from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. The first competition is Nov. 6. Competition participation is optional.
Intramural Flag Football — Students in fourth and fifth grades will have the opportunity to sign up online in August. Games will be played on Mondays and Tuesdays after school beginning at 3:55 p.m. Games should last between 25 and 35 minutes and will be completed by 4:30 p.m.
Games will be scheduled on:
- Mondays: Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30
- Tuesdays: Sept. 10, 17, 24, Oct. 1
Not every team will play every day. Games will not be played if inclement weather is occurring or predicted. Canceled games will not be made up. If you have any questions, please email Mike Lawver.
Trailblazin' Running Club — Tomahawk Elementary students in third through fifth grades can sign up online in August and March to participate.
- Runners will meet on Thursdays after school from 3:55-4:30 p.m., between Sept. 5 and Oct. 10. The Thursday runs will include increasing distance runs (beginning with one-half mile) in preparation for the Jared Coones Memorial Pumpkin Run on Oct. 12. The spring semester club will meet March 27 through May (no running club on April 17 and April 24), culminating in the Tower2Tower Run on May 3.
- Parents of participating students will be required to pick up their child (or allow permission for them to walk home) at 4:30 p.m. at Tomahawk Elementary following each training run.
- There are no fees for participation in the Trailblazin’ Running Club. (Fees may apply for the Jared Coones and Tower2Tower runs. More details will be available soon.)
- Family members are welcome to participate.
- The Tomahawk Trailblazin’ Runners will be coached by some Tomahawk staff. Parents are welcome to join in the fun and volunteer to help with training runs. If you plan on volunteering, please email Mike Lawver.
