    Practice Times

Practice will be from 3:30-4:45 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with relays from 4:45-5 p.m. Practice on Friday will be from 7-7:45 a.m. Practice will begin Tuesday, March 25. All athletes must have a current physical and concussion form, dated after May 1, 2024, on file and the forms in the packet should be signed and returned in order to practice!

    Attendance

Athletes are required to attend all practices. Only school absences, sudden illness or family emergencies will excuse an athlete from practice. If an athlete must be late to practice for academic reasons, they must bring a pass from a teacher. All absences must be communicated to coaches by a parent or guardian to be considered excused. Unexcused absences could impact participation in meets. After-practice rides need to be here no later than 5:00 p.m.

    Conduct

Members of the track team are student-athletes who represent themselves, their coaches, and Pioneer Trail. During school, at practice, on the bus, and at meets it is required that all student-athletes present themselves with accountability, respect, and engagement. Failure to do so could impact participation in meets. Additionally, eligibility checks will be conducted to ensure all student-athletes are passing their classes.

    Equipment

Each athlete should come to practice with appropriate athletic wear (crop tops, sports bras without a top, too-short shorts will not be allowed), a good pair of running shoes, and a water bottle. Spikes are not required but may prove to be an advantage during meets. Spikes may not be longer than one-quarter inch. Spikes will not be allowed during practice.

Uniforms will be checked out to each athlete before the first meet. Uniforms must be worn at each meet. No uniform equals no running, jumping or throwing. All uniforms must be returned at the end of the season. If this does not happen, the athlete is responsible for reimbursing the school.

It can be very cold during some practices and meets, so hoodies, sweatpants, gloves and hats are recommended on those cold days.
