Principal

Stacy Shipley has served students and families in the Olathe School District for 29 years and has been principal of Woodland Elementary for the past 16 years. Before Woodland, Shipley was principal of Countryside Elementary for eight years. Prior to that, she was an administrative intern and instructional resource teacher. She has also been a first- and second-grade classroom teacher for the district.

“I am extremely proud of the Olathe school community. Through the years, we — parents, teachers, and students — have worked together to create an incredible learning experience for each child who has walked through our doors. Academic excellence has been our No. 1 priority at Woodland Elementary School," she said. "We are continually looking for new ways to help students engage with learning. Our goal is to give students the tools to be academically successful while serving others in our school, the community and the world.”

Shipley holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Emporia State University. She is the recipient of the Emporia State University’s Outstanding Most Recent Graduate in 2004 and in 2009 was recognized by the Kansas School Nurse Organization as the Administrator of the Year.

Shipley’s husband, Rob, is an educator in Olathe District Schools. They have two children, Bennett and Maris. Both children graduated from Olathe District Schools.
