Student Activities and Clubs

  • Athletic Club

Athletic Club is a month-long sports club each quarter. The club meets once a week for practice and meets one Saturday each quarter for a "season-ending" game for family and staff. Sports have included dodgeball, basketball, and soccer. This club is open to fourth and fifth graders.

    Math Wings

Math Wings, an after-school mathematics competition club, is for fourth and fifth grade students who excel in mathematics and are interested in developing mathematical strategies that will enable them to compete against students from other schools. Math Wings sessions will focus on developing: 1) advanced mathematical concepts and 2) skills in solving problems using speed strategies.

    Run/ Walk Club

Run/Walk Club is open to third through fifth graders who participate to have fun and increase their physical activity. The club meets in the fall after school. Students may prepare to participate in the Jared Coones Memorial Run after the fall session.

    SuperSonics

SuperSonics is a choir of more than 50 singers in fourth and fifth grades, directed by general music teacher Bethany Main. Every student in our choir volunteers their time to be part of this group. Members sing music that is more difficult than what students learn in their regular music classes. Our SuperSonics have performed at events such as Breakfast with Santa, winter and spring concerts, the Kansas City Royals game, and other fun places in and around our district.
