Hello Husky families,

I am so very excited to welcome our returning Huskies and to meet our new students and families! This year marks my 5th year as the principal at Heatherstone and I am thrilled to continue this journey with all of you!

Often, in education, we are asked to explain our why. Why did we choose a path in education? Why have we stuck with a career in education? My answer is easy…YOU! I chose a career in education, 20 years ago, because of students and families like you. Working with students and opening the doors of learning is a pure joy to me. Helping students find their interests and strengths is a gift. As an administrator, my work allows me to support teachers and staff so that they can continue to make the differences they do, each day, for your children.

This rewarding and important impact is met with support, relationships, and connections that my staff and I get to have with each other, your children and with your family. At Heatherstone, we put relationships first. We know that all learners, regardless of their age, thrive in an environment where they feel safe, heard, and loved. Watching our students grow and meet milestones makes my job one of the very best on earth!

I look forward to working, together, toward the goals of each student and family. Our doors are open, and we love to have visitors. Becoming involved in your child’s education is one of the most important roles you have as parents! Joining together, for your child, demonstrates to them the importance of learning and the belief that together is better! Thank you for partnering with my staff and with me to make the 2023-2024 school year the best it can be!

My door is open, and I am ready to embark on an awesome school year! When your students come through the doors this year, we leave the worry and negativity of the world behind and embrace the positivity, the potential and strong community that is part of our Husky culture!
