Math Counts is a national math competition held annually by the National Society of Professional Engineers. California Trail is in the Eastern Kansas Chapter of Math Counts. The regional competition is held in February when the top teams move on to the state competition.

California Trail Math Counts students will also have an opportunity to compete against other Olathe middle school students at three middle school math competitions.
