What is PTO?
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. We're a group of moms, dads and teachers who volunteer some of our extra time to making our school a fun, community-oriented environment.
What do we do?
We make school more fun! We hold fundraisers throughout the year, in order to raise money to do the things the school needs us to do. What are those things? We help pay for things such as:
- field trips
- assemblies
- social events
- motivational rewards
- providing some supplies needed by the school
- other general goodies that help make school that much more fun for the kids & for the teachers too!
Why do we do it?
Quite frankly, it's fun. We know the better success we have, as a PTO, the more it benefits our students. Plus, our kids love seeing us up at "their" school volunteering our time.
Where do you sign up?
If you have a student attending Central, then you're already signed up.
Ways that you can be involved include: attend meetings, volunteer to help with an event, and join our Facebook PTO group and email list to stay informed.
What areas do we need help in?
- Fundraisers: Find restaurants and other organizations to run fundraisers throughout each month.
- Yearbook: Field trips are a big portion of the yearbook, so attending field trips and taking pictures is very helpful! Pictures can be emailed to Marcie Mason.
- Home room parent: Each teacher will ask parents, at the beginning of the year, who would like to help with class parties. The home room parent helps the teachers collect food and drinks from students, and set up and create fun activities for the parties.
- Spirit Wear: Once orders are placed and the shipment is delivered, we will need help organizing the orders and distributing the orders to students and staff.
- Breakfast with Santa: Help with decorating set-up and break-down; serve food and drinks; take pictures; find fun activities for students.
- Social Media: Create and share events through the Facebook page; communicate with all PTO members on upcoming events, activities, and meetings.
2024-25 Meetings:
Meetings are held in person at Central in the Library at 6:00 p.m. on the following dates.
