Internal Transfer Information
The Olathe Board of Education allows parents to make a request for their child to transfer to a school other than their attendance-area school. Board policy allows this action based upon exceptional circumstances and for highly justifiable reasons. Please see the transfer booklets below.
All Kansas school districts have an open enrollment policy requiring non-resident students, who reside in Kansas, to attend any school if the district has the capacity.
- In-district Transfer window: Jan. 1-Feb. 28, 2026
- District Employee’s Student window: Jan. 1-Feb. 28, 2026
- In-district Transfer window re-opened: July 1-31, 2026
*Please note, in-district transfer applications will be active beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
Out-of-District Enrollment

Out-of-District enrollment is available to Kansas students and families who live outside of Olathe Public Schools boundaries and are interested in attending our district. If you are unsure which school boundary area you live within, please use the Johnson County AIMS school locator.
