Parents as Teachers

Young child playing at a table with adults

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a free, voluntary program that supports parents of children from birth to 36 months through personalized, in-home visits from certified parent educators. These trained professionals help families understand their child’s development, conduct yearly vision and hearing screenings, and provide developmental checks in areas like language, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional skills. They also connect families with community resources based on individual goals and needs. PAT includes group connection events with parent/child activities, screenings, and educational sessions.

For more information, call Parents as Teacher at 913-780-8106.

Playgroups

Our playgroups are offered in our PAT playroom at Mill Creek Campus (300 E. Loula St., Olathe, KS). Information about playgroup dates and times will be emailed each month to families who are enrolled in the Olathe Parents as Teachers program. Playgroups are for children birth to 3 years old. You may park in any open spaces on our campus. We are located in the lower level of the building. Follow the PAT signs to door "Q," where staff will let you into our building after you ring the bell.

For safety and health reasons, shoes are required for all, and food or drinks should stay in bags due to allergy concerns.
