Before- and After-School Care
Johnson County Park and Recreation (JCPRD) provides before- and after-school programming at all 36 elementary schools, offering full-time care for four or five days per week and part-time care for three or fewer days. Selected days must remain the same week to week.
Fees are charged weekly in advance via automatic withdrawal and include snacks, field trips, and activities. A $75 non-refundable registration fee applies at enrollment, with additional fees of $30 for declined payments and $15 for changes to programming. Families receive a 10% discount for the second child enrolled. Full-time participants get all-day care at no extra cost on professional development and parent-teacher conference days, while part-time participants are charged $30 if a no-school day falls outside their regular schedule.
Reduced rates based on eligibility help make the program more accessible: $75 per week for full-time participants qualifying for reduced-price lunch and $58 per week for those on free lunch. Assistance from the Department for Children and Families, KVC Health Systems, and other programs may also be used toward payment, except when reduced lunch rates apply.
