Sept. 3, 2024 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. (This is a deviation from their normal Thursday meeting schedule.) The meeting will be preceded by a special meeting (revenue neutral rate hearing) at 5:15 p.m. and another special meeting (budget hearing) at 5:30 p.m. 

Anyone wishing to address the board at the regular meeting should email Clerk of the Board Barb Behm before noon Wednesday, Sept. 4. See our Rules for Public Comment webpage for details.  

The regular meeting will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Cub Scout Pack 3412 from Ridgeview Elementary School, followed by the board adopting their meeting agenda.  

The board will recognize Presidential Service Award recipients from the Volunteers Serving Schools program, a valued business partner, an elementary school that earned the Challenge Award, and state athletic champions from the spring season.  

Three presentations are planned: school spotlight on Ridgeview Elementary School, efforts to gather input from classified staff, and academic data from the previous school year.  

The board will act on a consent agenda of routine items as well as more than a half dozen bids, contracts and agreements before acting on another half dozen action items. Board members will receive information on about a half-dozen future action items and four written reports.  

Two executive sessions are planned: for the board to consult with the district’s attorney, and for the board to discuss non-elected personnel.
