10-12-21 — Hutchison Elected VP of International Organization
Oct. 12, 2021 ~ John Hutchison, Olathe Public Schools deputy superintendent for business and operations, was elected as the 2022 vice president for the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International, effective Jan. 1, 2022. ASBO is a global network of school business professionals that promotes “the highest standards of school business management, professional growth, and the effective use of educational resources.” Hutchison will serve as vice president for the 2022 year and president for the 2023 year.
“I am truly humbled to be able to serve as the vice president for ASBO and am honored that Kansas and Olathe will be able to represent the school business profession in this way,” Hutchison said. “I’m excited to use my experience in school business and finance and combine it with my passion to help others and serve as an advocate in the profession.”
As an ASBO board member, Hutchison will help guide the association in fulfilling its mission and advocate for colleagues and the school business management profession. Hutchison is the first ASBO vice president to be elected from the state of Kansas.
In a press release, ASBO Executive Director David Lewis said, “It is exciting to welcome these new board members to help lead our association and the profession. ASBO International board members bring uniquely valuable insights from their perspectives as practitioners in districts from across the country and the world.
