6-19-20 — District Celebrates Juneteenth Holiday

A Statement from the Diversity and Engagement Department and Staff Members of the Olathe Public Schools

June 19, 2020 ~ Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated annually on June 19 and commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. A regrettable era in U.S. history provides our nation reflection and an opportunity to pave the way for needed positive, impactful change for the African American community.

Join us in celebrating Juneteenth and taking a moment for reflection. While we have come a long way, we recognize there is work to be done.
