8-11-15 — Olathe North Senior Earns Perfect ACT Score
Aug. 11, 2015 ~ Ty Lawson, a senior at Olathe North High School, has earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT. Nationally, while the actual number of students earning a composite score of 36 varies from year to year, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students taking the ACT earn a top score.
"Ty has continued the strong tradition of academic excellence of Olathe North through his perfect ACT score," Principal David Morford said. "We are extremely proud of him and this achievement and know the dedication and hard work it takes to reach such a high score. His score now represents four consecutive years of perfect ACT scores at Olathe North and I know the North community and the Olathe community are proud of his achievement."
Lawson is involved in the 21st Century Distinguished Scholars Science program at North, which won Battle of the Brains competition to have their exhibit constructed at Science City at Union Station. He is also a member of the Science Olympiad team, which has advanced to both state and national competitions during the last two years. He is a National Honor Society member and also a member of the Latin Club.
