4-4-16 — Helping Children Communicate at Home
April 4, 2016 ~ The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with special education needs. "Let's Talk! Helping Your Child to Communicate at Home" is the topic of the April 14 meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Instructional Resource Center, 14090 Black Bob Road, Olathe.
Dr. Nancy Brady, associate professor with the University of Kansas, will talk about the challenges of communicating with a child who uses few or no verbal words. She will give an overview of how and why children communicate at different developmental stages, and offer tips to make communicating more fun.
Sign language and Spanish interpreters for this seminar can be requested by calling Sally Boyd in Special Services at (913) 780-8170. There is no need to RSVP for the special services seminar.
