Dec. 4, 2023 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. The doors open at 5:15 p.m. Anyone wishing to address the board should email Clerk of the Board Barb Behm before noon on Thursday, Dec. 7. See our Rules for Public Comment webpage.

Approval of this month’s regular meeting agenda will be followed by a handful of recognitions including two outgoing board members.

Three presentations are planned.

• Forest View Elementary Principal Jason Watkins will present information about his school.
• Representatives from Allen, Gibbs & Houlik, L.C. will provide information on the fiscal year 2023 audit and related findings.
• Chief Academic Officer Dr. Tim Reves and College and Career Readiness Coordinator Alicia Jackson will provide a brief update on proposed changes to graduation requirements in the district to align with new state requirements.

The board will hold an executive session to discuss non-elected personnel before acting on a consent agenda of routine items as well as a dozen bids, contracts and agreements.

Board members will receive information on nearly two dozen future action items and three written reports.

Two separate executive sessions are planned for the board to consult with its attorney.
