6-1-21 — June 2021 Board Meeting Preview
June 1, 2021 ~ The Olathe Public Schools Board of Education will hold its last regular meeting of the 2020-21 fiscal year at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 3 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, all visitors to the building, including staff, must wear a face mask. A limited number of people will be admitted into the board room to maintain 6 feet between people. Meetings will be livestreamed because of the limited capacity. Visitors will be able to watch by visiting the district’s YouTube channel.
Following public comments, the board will vote on COVID-19 protocols for the 2021-22 school year, including optional masking for staff, students and visitors. The protocols also cover enhanced sanitation and making adaptations in case of an outbreak within the school community.
Board members will act on a consent agenda of routine items as well as more than a dozen bids, contracts and agreements. They will also vote on renewal of the Xello college and career readiness resource, purchase of elementary and high school reading intervention materials, official name of the district’s virtual school, and memorandum of understanding with the Olathe National Education Association.
The board will receive information on more than a dozen future action items and one written report.
Two executive sessions are planned: consult with the district’s attorney and discuss non-elected personnel.
The complete agenda is available by visiting the BoardDocs website.
