5-23-23 — Weather Accommodates Five Outdoor Graduation Ceremonies

May 23, 2023 ~ Mother Nature was looking out for the Class of 2023 by providing mostly sunny skies for five outdoor graduations May 19-21. Commencement ceremonies at the College Boulevard Activity Complex were the final step for the Olathe Public Schools graduates before they embark upon the next phase of their future.

"We are so proud of the class of 2023," Superintendent Dr. Brent Yeager said. "It was inspiring to attend all five graduations this weekend and see the culmination of the years of hard work by our students, staff and families on display. On behalf of the Olathe Public Schools community, I want to wish these graduates the best of luck in their future endeavors!"

The list of accolades for the Class of 2023 is already lengthy and will certainly grow as these young adults pursue more education, training or careers. The 2,264 graduates accepted a total of $32,299,429 in scholarships.

During their high school years, these students excelled in academics, activities, and athletics. They earned national recognition, brought home state championship trophies, and served as role models within their high school communities. This talented group earned recognition for their artistic talents (fine arts and performing arts) as well as their knowledge of career and technical education.
