Olathe Student Earns State Diving Title

Emily Bachelor, Olathe East High School junior, earned an individual 6A Kansas state title in diving.

“We are so proud of Emily and her accomplishment as a state champion,” Kaleb Stoppel, Olathe East assistant principal and athletic director, said. “She represented herself, her team and her school with Hawk pride. Most impressive has been her ability to come into a new sport with drive and determination, working hard every practice and competing to get better and achieve her goals.”

Olathe Athletes Earn Track and Field Titles

Several Olathe student athletes earned Kansas 6A titles at the Kansas State Track and Field Championship:

  • Jacob Vermillion, Olathe East High School, won the Boys 800-Meter Run.
  • Cade Heikes, Olathe North High School, won the Boys 1600-Meter Run.
  • Jaleesa McWashington, Olathe Northwest High School, won the Girls 300-Meter Hurdles and the Girls Long Jump.
  • Olathe Northwest Boys 4x800 Meter Relay team of Braeden Beard, Bret Beard, Andrew Tracy and Cole Morris won the Kansas 6A state title.
  • Madeline Righter, Olathe Northwest, won the Girls High Jump.
