4-15-19 — Provisional Changes Made to Immunization Requirements

April 15, 2019 ~ Due to ongoing research into the effectiveness of immunizations against vaccine-preventable diseases, two provisional changes have been made to immunization requirements (Kansas Administrative Regulations 28-1-20) for the 2019-2020 school year to support the health of children and the school community.

  • Hepatitis A: Two doses are required with a minimum of six months between dose one and dose two. This is required for early childhood (pre-kindergarten), kindergarten and first-grade students.
  • Meningococcal (A, C, W, Y): One dose is required for seventh grade students. The second dose is required for entry into 11th grade to complete the two-dose series.

Parents may check their child’s immunization record by signing into the ParentVUE website
