Jan. 29, 2024 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. The doors open at 5:15 p.m. Anyone wishing to address the board should email Clerk of the Board Barb Behm before noon Thursday, Feb. 1. See our Rules for Public Comment webpage.

The evening begins with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Scarborough Elementary School parent and staff member Kari Jurado, followed by the board adopting their meeting agenda. The board may swear in a newly appointed board member for District 3, Position 6. 

The board will recognize a community partner, three state champions, and the district’s Pennies for Shoes campaign benefiting the Olathe Mayor’s Children’s Fund.

Three presentations are planned: school spotlight on Scarborough Elementary, the district’s rebrand campaign, and an update on the new Operations Service Center / Career and Technical Education Center project.

The board will act on a consent agenda of routine items as well as several bids, contracts and agreements, and one other action item.

Board members will receive information on more than a dozen future action items and two written reports.

One executive session is planned.
