Dec. 20, 2024 ~ Our student-athletes excelled this season, achieving state titles and earning top honors across various sports. From record-breaking performances to historic milestones, their talent and determination have showcased the exceptional spirit of our schools. Here are some of the highlights from our fall sports teams: 

Cross-Country: 

6A Boys: 

• First Place: Braxton Theel (Olathe West High School) 
• Second Place: Dylan Plath (Olathe South High School)  
• Fourth Place: Gunnar Hornung (Olathe West High School)  
• Seventh Place: Luke Swearengin (Olathe South High School)  

6A Girls: 

Olathe West takes the state title for the fifth consecutive year! Olathe North High School placed fifth overall and Olathe Northwest High School took ninth. 

Volleyball:  

Olathe West High School placed third in the 6A state championship.  

Girls Golf:  

Olathe East High School’s Jenny Sun and Addie Mckenna placed fifth and 10th respectively at the 6A State Golf Tournament. Avery Hearshman from Olathe Northwest High School took seventh.  

Girls Tennis: 

• Team: Olathe Northwest High School won the 6A state championship, marking the first-ever state title for an Olathe team in tennis! 
• Singles Champion: Mithila Dixit (Olathe Northwest High School). 
• Doubles Champions: Riley Terhune and Hannah Carney (Olathe Northwest High School). 

Gymnastics: 

Team: Olathe North claims its fourth straight state championship! Olathe Northwest High School took second, Olathe East High School placed fourth, and Olathe South High School came away with fifth place. 

Individuals: Sophia Beaumont, from Olathe Northwest, was the state champion in Vault, Bars, Beam, and All-Around, plus tied for first in Floor! Her teammate Emmy Keller also tied for first in Floor. 

Dance Showcase: 

Olathe Northwest High School claimed victory in the 2024 Gameday Dance Showcase. Olathe West High School took third and Olathe North placed fifth.  

Cheer Showcase: 

Olathe Northwest High School claimed third in the 2024 Gameday Cheer Showcase.
