1-26-22 — Support Systems for Students with Special Needs
Jan. 26, 2022 ~ The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with special education needs. "Multi-Tiered Systems of Support within Olathe Public Schools" is the topic of the Tuesday, Feb. 22 Zoom meeting. Join the Zoom presentation by 6:30 p.m.
Olathe Public Schools Math Coordinator Spencer Brown and Special Services Coordinator Andrew Heinicke will describe the district’s efforts to implement an MTSS framework for all students. Students with disabilities, like all students, benefit from positive MTSS outcomes including sustained academic performance, reduced inappropriate referrals to special education, and improved graduation rates.
Sign language and Spanish interpreters for this seminar can be requested by calling Sally Boyd in Special Services at 913-780-8170 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Feb. 14. There is no need to RSVP for the seminar.
