Southside Shout Outs:

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news about our amazing students and their incredible success in World Languages! The world languages  department recently had students take the STAMP test, which is a standardized test that grades a student’s proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students with a high enough score in EACH category achieve the “Seal of Biliteracy.”

Our boys golf team played in the 3rd and final round of the Sunflower League Championship today.

  1. Our team won the 3rd round with a team score of 301

  2. Tate Edwards got 2nd place with a score of 71 (-1)

Overall Sunflower League results:

  1. Our team finished 4th place in the Sunflower League

  2. Brodie Gager (20th), Sam Deneke (18th), and Grayson Kelso (14th) all earned Honorable Mention All-Sunflower League

  3. Tate Edwards won the Sunflower League Title. This athlete was 1 down with 3 to play, and birdied 2 of the last 3 holes to take home the title!!!!

Thursday night, Olathe South Theatre won a Starlight Blue Star Award for outstanding costume and makeup deign for our production of The Pirates of Penzance." We were the best in the KC metro area. Ava Van Corler and Kayla Gillispie accepted the award on Starlight's stage for their work on the show.

Athletics:

Any girls interested in trying out for girl's golf in the fall, there will be an informational meeting today during advisory in Room 301. Please see Coach Meile with any questions.

There will be an informational meeting today at 10:30 during advisory in room 309 for all boys and girls interested in running cross country this coming fall. 

Activities:

Members of next year’s Southside Singers, come to the choir room today during advisory for a meeting
