Oct. 14, 2020 ~ Cody Kennedy, Communications and Media Manager with the Olathe Public Schools was named one of the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Top 35 under 35. This prestigious accomplishment recognizes young professional members who are making a difference for their school district.
“Cody is an outstanding leader in the district,” Executive Director of Communications and Community Relations Maggie Kolb said. “He has incredible work ethic, and instincts around communication. He loves this district and sharing the amazing accomplishments of students and staff. He is incredibly deserving of this honor.”
Kennedy has worked for the Olathe Public Schools since 2013. He started his career in the district with the Olathe Public Schools Foundation as their Community Outreach Specialist. He moved to the Communications Department in 2016. In his current role as Communications and Media manager, he handles media relations, internal and external communication through feature stories, press releases and social media posts.
“I’m truly humbled and honored to be recognized by the National School Public Relations Association,” Kennedy said. “It is a privilege to serve my community surrounded by an incredibly talented and dedicated communications team and a responsibility I hold in the highest regard.”
